Xylitol (Pronounced Zylitol) is a 100% natural sweetener often found in fruits and vegetables. It's also derived from sources such as Birch wood and corn.

Xylitol has long been popular in the dental community for its proven abilities, in adequate doses, to prevent cavities by inhibiting bacteria growth. Mainstream awareness has grown, and will grow, over time as consumers are learning of Xylitol, and some companies are starting to introduce it to their products.

Unfortunately most of the companies that use any Xylitol in their products don't use nearly enough to have any meaningful benefit. They use enough of it to plaster it all over their labels as a marketing intitiative, but there isn't enough Xylitol in their products to experience any of its benefits.

Our chewing gum contains over 1 gram of pure, natural Xylitol in each piece, and we use only Xylitol to sweeten our chewing gum.

Xylitol is categorized as Polyol, however it's different than any of the other Polyols because Xylitol actually prevents the growth of bacteria due to its structure, whereas other polyols support bacteria growth. It's also much sweeter than other Polyols. And finally, Xylitol is absorbed at a slower rate than other polyols so it is widely consumed by diabetics as It doesn't alter insulin levels nearly as much as other polyols.

Xylitol has been very well researched. There are thousands of published studies worldwide, and it has been used in consumer food, pharmaceutical, and oral health products for years. It's FDA approved, and it has been reviewed by scientific boards for its intake allotments or advisement levels, and no intake levels were set. Meaning, while too much of anything typically isn't beneficial, it won't harm you if you consume too much of it.

The Dental benefits of Xylitol are undeniably extraordinary. Not only does consuming 3+ grams of Xylitol a day reduce new tooth decay, it has also been seen to reverse existing decays in many cases. Since our teeth, and our mouth, are so vital to our comfort and day to day life, it's important to take good care of our teeth. We all know that trips to the Dentist are far more enjoyable when we are "Cavity Free". What an ideal way to prevent cavities, by chewing gum. Not only that, a Sugarless gum!

The Clinically Proven effects of Xylitol are as follows:

-Inhibits dental cavities and plaque formation by over 80%
-Inhibits Tooth enamel demineralization
-Increases Saliva Production which helps relieve dry mouth symptoms
-Reduces infections in the mouth

Xylitol has also been proven to reduce ear infections, and other nose and throat infections that originate from the mouth. Researchers agree that chewing gum is the most effective delivery method for Xylitol. To be effective, 3 or more grams should be consumed per day. However, many suggest consuming 12-15 grams per day for heightened benefits.

Xylitol has also gained wide acceptance in the diabetic community for the ability to improve blood sugar control.

Xylitol truly is the ideal alternative to Sugar, and by developing a 100% Xylitol sweetened chewing gum, we are not only able to offer a sugar free chewing gum, but one with no artificial sweeteners, and a natural sweetener that has so many verified benefits that it should be the part of every humans daily consumption.
